When the time comes to say that final goodbye to a beloved pet, whether the loss is sudden or a farewell you knew was coming, there is no easy way to prepare your heart. The grief can be overwhelming, and facing tomorrow without the companion who has shared your home, your routines and so much of your life can be incredibly difficult.

At Peaceful Paws Pet Crematorium, we understand that pain because we have lived it ourselves. We have loved and lost our own pets, and we know that until you have experienced that loss, it can be difficult to understand just how deeply it hurts. They are not simply pets. They are family, companions, best friends and a part of our everyday lives. Their absence leaves a space that can never truly be filled.

That understanding is at the heart of everything we do.

When your beloved companion is entrusted to Peaceful Paws, we promise to care for them with the same dignity, gentleness and respect that we would want for our own. From the moment they come into our care until the moment they are returned home to you, they are treated as the cherished family member they are. We never forget that behind every pet we care for is a family who loved them and trusted us with someone incredibly precious.

We also understand that every family grieves differently and that every goodbye is personal. There is no single right way to honour a life that meant so much. Whether your pet's passing was expected or came without warning, we are here to listen, answer your questions and help you make the choices that feel right for you and your family.

Our goal has always been to make one of life's most difficult moments a little gentler. We want you to feel comfortable asking questions, taking the time you need and knowing exactly how your pet will be cared for. Compassion, dignity and trust are not simply words to us. They are promises we make to every family who walks through our doors.

We are also proud to offer families The Rainbow Room, PEI's first and only dedicated pet visitation room. It is a private, peaceful space created especially for families who wish to spend some final moments with their beloved companion before placing them into our care. Every detail of the room was created with comfort, dignity and love in mind.

Above all, please remember that you are never an inconvenience to us.

We are here for you 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Never feel that you are interrupting us or calling at the wrong time. This is what we do, and when you are facing the loss of a beloved member of your family, we want to be here when you need us most.

We recently said goodbye to our sweet beagle boy, Duke, and we were so grateful that we found Gaylene to assist us at this difficult time.

Duke passed in our home, and when Gaylene came in to see us it was immediately apparent how much she loves animals, and how well-suited she is for this work. She was very generous with her time, gently explaining things and allowing us as much involvement as we needed in sending off our boy. My husband was able to carry him out to her vehicle, and place him inside on soft, clean blankets.

Gaylene was so compassionate in response to our grief, and was respectful of our wishes for memorializing Duke. I am very happy that we requested some of the keepsakes that she can make upon request, including prints of Duke's paw and his nose, as well as clay ornaments with his paw print. She even asked about what colours she should use, and went out of her way to find the specific shade of blue that I requested for mounting the prints.

When we went to pick up Duke's ashes, we had a lovely conversation with Gaylene. She was very tuned into the wave of emotions that we were experiencing. Gaylene had packaged everything beautifully and included a homemade, handwritten card addressed to our family. We were very impressed with the quality of the service, and very touched by how much thought and care went into everything. We whole-heartedly recommend Peaceful Paws to anyone on the journey of saying goodbye to their pet. Thank you Gaylene.

I lost my soul cat, and wanted him cremated, but not at the vet. I facebooked and googled options and came across Peaceful Paws. We gave the number a call and sure enough, we were able to leave the vet and go straight there.
I felt so welcomed, safe, and seen as soon as I walked in. The way she took care of my furbaby I’ll never forget. I have never met these people before, but the immense sense of trust and peace I had in my heart leaving my kitty there was amazing, I didn’t have a worry at all, and he was sent off with forehead kisses and ear rubs.
I picked up his ashes the next day, I couldn’t come until 6pm and it was no problem, i could go anytime I wanted, it didn’t matter. He was in the beautiful urn I chose, that they engraved for me. The effort and love they put into the keepsakes is unimaginable and I’m so thankful for each one of them.. These people truly care.
I’m overwhelmed with how grateful I am for Peaceful Paws helping ease this grief.

Gaylene and Todd truly do God’s work. We cannot imagine going through the greatest loss of our lives without their kindness, compassion, and exceptional care. My husband and I do not have children—our dogs are our children. They are the heart of our family and the purest form of unconditional love. Gaylene and Todd understand that completely and honoured our beloved Peach with the utmost dignity and respect throughout every aspect of her private cremation.

They went above and beyond by bringing her home to us the very next day in her beautifully engraved urn, with all of her precious keepsakes thoughtfully arranged in the loveliest memorial display. Having Peach home was an immeasurable comfort in our grief, while we were too devastated and exhausted to make the drive safely ourselves. The beautiful poem and memorial plaque, both personalized with Peach’s name, along with the comfort food they thoughtfully included, were such heartfelt gifts. Her ink and clay paw prints, nose impressions, and surprise ear impressions are treasures we will cherish forever. The ear impressions were especially meaningful because Peach had adorably distinctive ears for an English Bulldog. As a puppy, they stood tall and pointed, with the sweetest little Gizmo-like shape.

From the very first time I called Gaylene, I knew how deeply and genuinely she cared. I was overwhelmed with anticipatory grief, and she pulled her vehicle over so she could give me her full attention and truly listen. That same sincerity and empathy were present in every interaction that followed. No matter how busy she was, Gaylene always made the time for me and thoughtfully responded to every email and phone call. Because we didn’t know exactly how much time Peach had left, we celebrated her 13th birthday three weeks early. Gaylene made the most beautiful wish and prayer that Peach would make it to her real birthday and it came true. We were so blessed that Peach reached her milestone 13th birthday and that we got to celebrate with our little angel twice before she passed peacefully at home the following day.

Letting go of Peach was the hardest thing I have ever had to do, but knowing she was in Gaylene and Todd’s loving hands gave us profound peace when we needed it most. We will be eternally grateful. They are everything a family could hope for, and so much more, during such a heartbreaking time. We give them our highest possible recommendation with our whole hearts.

On Saturday, June 27th we made the hardest decision to say goodbye to our 14 yr old tabby ‘Milo’. He was always a healthy boy up til a few months ago when he was diagnosed with kidney disease and dementia.
Gaylene met us at the hospital after we said our goodbyes to take Milo in her care. She’s the most caring, supportive and compassionate person. Its taken me time to write my review as its still hard to accept my boy Reaper is no longer with me.... from the very first phone call I had with Gaylene I knew my Reaper was going to be taken care of and respected. I lost my best friend Trooper on February 20th, a senior rescue boxer-pittie who was with me for a decade after being rescued at around three years old.

Gaylene is the type of person who makes you feel like you have known each other forever. She not only cries with you, but somehow is also able to make you laugh on the worst day of your life. She strikes that perfect balance, which makes you feel her care and her humanity.

She took the time with me and sat and listened to stories about my boy, and even passed them along to the men who were handling him directly, so they would know the dog they were caring for and how special he was.

They don't treat your pet like they're just another number, they genuinely want to get to know who they were, and about the life they lived.

Gaylene even asked if she could give my boy a kiss before the cremation happened, to which I said of course. She is an animal lover through and through, and treats pets and their families with so much love and respect.

They are very up front at Peaceful Paws, and are open about the way they do their pricing. They also instill trust that the ashes you receive back are actually those of your beloved pet, and not mixed with other pets.

I can't say enough about them and this service. I will forever bring my pets here in the final leg of their journey.

I was surprised when I carried my furbaby into this Crematorium, not knowing what to expect, but totally not expecting the warm atmosphere and the sincere caring and kindness of this wonderful woman who greeted up with warm eyes and a soft smile. I can only describe her as an angel. She helped me to let go of my baby into her caring, loving and competent hands and I just knew Bonnie would be cared for with dignity and love as she was bundled up like a little “burrito” on her last day.

Fortunately for us, we met the kindest, most personable, real, and humorous humans we could ever hope to encounter. They are literally salt of the earth people. They took such good care of our girl and us. We couldn't have asked for a better experience, especially during such a difficult time. We felt extremely understood, cared for, and that they shared in our grief.
The whole process was easy to access, they explain everything, answered every question, and go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable with their service. The cost is stupidly reasonable and you just know your companion was loved along to their final destination. So incredibly kind, and your furry family couldn't be in better hands. Gaylene put her turkey on hold on a Thanksgiving Sunday to help us put our fur-kid to rest. "I'm not in right now, but I will be if you need me," and she absolutely was there for everything we needed - not once making us feel rushed or like an inconvenience or bother (even though I'm sure we were). Peaceful Paws made a very hard day comforting. They came to our home and picked up our sweet Bella after her passing without a hesitation. They cremated that evening , no waiting for days or weeks to reunite with your pet. We picked her up the next day. They did multiple paw and nose prints as well as a memorial tile with her name on it. The Urns that are offered to choose from are so beautiful. They also engraved her name and date on site. The “keepsake” cardboard box the carries them if you are not getting an urn is engraved with their name into the cardboard. It is so beautiful that we are using it as Bella’s keepsake for her collar, leash etc. Bella also received a rainbow bridge poem with her name.
The did everything with dignity and respect, and gentleness.
I recommend 100%.
They made a difficult day a little bit easier knowing our sweet Bella was in the best of care.

Our beautiful girl Bella, who passed away March 14th. It was a terrible day for our family as we said goodbye to her after almost 14 years. But I was so relieved to learn that Peaceful Paws was there to take over after we said and kissed our sweet Bella goodbye.

You came to collect her from the vet, where you took her to be cared for and cremated with such love. You gave us, her family, support and love and the right to grieve our beautiful girl. Your special touches that mean so much during such a difficult time.

Todd and Gaylene were such a beautiful light in our dark times, they truly went above and beyond our expectations, and we felt peace knowing our little girl was loved and cared for there. We couldn’t have asked for a better place or better people to take care of her after she passed ❤️
