About Us
Todd Moase is President and Owner/Operator of Peaceful Paws Pet Crematorium. Born and raised on Prince Edward Island, Todd grew up in the funeral industry his entire life, as his parents ran a local funeral home in Kensington, PE.
In 1999, the Prince Edward Island Crematorium Inc. was established as the Island’s very first crematorium it was created to provide a central place for all funeral homes to ensure fairness and equal access for Island families. In 2014, Todd purchased the crematorium and has overseen thousands of services for Islanders since. If you’ve had a loved one cremated in PEI over the last two decades, it was most likely done at this facility under Todd’s care.
As time went on, Todd recognized a growing need for compassionate, professional pet cremation. A dedicated pet retort (cremation unit) was purchased and installed, making Peaceful Paws one of the only facilities in the Maritimes offering the same level of dignity and care for pets as is provided for people. Todd takes great pride in both of his businesses and strives to do his very best to serve grieving families, whether they are saying goodbye to a beloved parent, sibling, or a treasured animal companion.
Gaylene Fitzpatrick is a proud Newfoundlander who moved to PEI in 2021 and is Todd’s partner in life and business. She spent 23 years working in the dental industry in St. John’s, NL, and has owned and loved pets since she was a child. Gaylene was a long-time volunteer and then President of the Greyhound Adoption program in Newfoundland, and has been active with several other animal welfare groups. She and Todd share their home with seven cats and a deep love for all animals. Gaylene’s compassion shows in every detail at Peaceful Paws, where she treats every animal as though it were her own.
Together, Todd and Gaylene make a strong team. They truly understand your grief, having said goodbye to many of their own pets over the years. They ensure that every animal is treated with the same dignity and respect they would want for their own furry family members, Molly, Eekee, Kika, Elvis, Dahlia, Vega, and Nimbus (with angel Leroy watching over).
At Peaceful Paws, families can take comfort in knowing that the same trusted facility Islanders have relied upon for human cremation since 1999 is also where their beloved pets are cared for today. Todd and Gaylene are honored to provide this service and will do their very best to support you through the sorrow of losing a treasured family member.

As a pet owner, you have the special responsibility of making aftercare choices on your pet's behalf. Working together with your veterinary clinic, we will gently guide you through the process of making cremation arrangements that are fitting for you and your pet.
