Cashew Minou MacDonald, 2013 - 2025
“He ruled the house.” That really goes without saying, because this handsome lad was a cat. A very large, strapping and handsome ginger male and he, of course, without a doubt, ruled the house! That’s what cats do, right?!
Cashew Minou was, believe it or not, the pick of twenty seven baby kittens. How lucky was he to be the top choice of a family to love him forever and ever. When he went home at first, his tiny humans were six, five and four – and they treated him like the little doll he was.
He spent the first year of his life wrapped in receiving blankets being coddled like a real baby being carried everywhere – and Cashew Minou LOVED every minute of it.
He loved to sleep and could be found, a lot of the times, under the bed of the oldest girl, sleeping away in an open suitcase – that was, of course, intentionally left open so this spoiled boy could sleep in his favorite place.
Cashew Minou loved to be brushed but don’t dare try and put a harness on him. The addition of a harness to his fine self had one result and that was one of a complete collapse on the ground like he’d been paralyzed! He was having no part of wearing a harness!
He was a very vocal boy and was very capable of telling his humans and his canine brother Sampson, what he wanted AND what he didn’t want. One single raise of his paw and Sampson knew better than to cross him and if Cashew Minou was laying in the doorway of a room that Sampson wanted to get into, Sampson waited til the coast was clear and kitty moved to open the access! He wasn’t crossing him! He had a purr like a rumble truck and when he slept, he snored so much and he sounded like a pigeon!
He was spoiled, catered to and loved beyond measure and we’re told, like many other families admit, ‘He’s not replacable.’ Of course he isn’t. None of them are. They are unique and bring so much to our lives that enrich us and make us better humans. How blessed we are to have earned the love of a precious pet.
Cashew Minou closed his eyes and went to sleep surrounded by the ones that loved him the most. Reunited with Samspon, he will forever live on in the hearts of his humans and as they loved him for his entire life, they will spend the rest of their lives missing him.
Rest easy big handsome boy – you were one of a kind and your paw prints have been left on the hearts of those that cherished you the most.
Cashew Minou – April 28th, 2013 – November 2nd, 2025 🐾💙🌈
